Globalsat invests in the next generation of engineers: Strategic support for Hyperion Robotics

Supporting the next generation of scientists and engineers is a key pillar of Globalsat’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. For this reason, the Group has consistently invested in recent years in supporting the student team Hyperion Robotics of the University of Western Macedonia. Through this initiative, the company actively contributes to fostering innovation and advancing technological education in Greece.

The journey and achievements of Hyperion Robotics
Hyperion Robotics was founded in 2014 and is composed of engineering students from various disciplines. The team is actively engaged in the research and development of advanced robotic systems.
With a strong and consistent presence in international competitions, the team has managed to stand out at both European and global levels. A defining milestone in its journey was securing 2nd place worldwide at the Eurobot 2025 competition.
International presence & the Eurobot 2026 challenge
In 2026, the team continues its dynamic trajectory, having already achieved 1st place at Eurobot Serbia 2026. At the same time, the students are preparing for the Eurobot 2026 Grand Final, which will take place in May in France, where the Greek team will compete against leading teams from around the world.
The competition serves as an international innovation platform, where participants design and develop fully autonomous robotic systems.
Specifically, Hyperion Robotics is currently designing and building a new fully autonomous robot. The system operates on a 2×3 meter track, where it must identify and collect objects to complete missions within just 90 seconds.
As a result, the project focuses on solving complex dynamic navigation challenges, while placing strong emphasis on obstacle avoidance in a highly competitive environment.
